My Name is Michaela Farkasovska
I am a goldsmith and jewelry designer and I make custom-made fine jewelry in my San Jose, California studio.
All the fine jewelry I design is custom-made with 14K and 18K white and yellow gold, sterling silver and platinum. I use only high-quality precious metals and ethically mined gemstones such as diamonds, topaz, aquamarine, moonstone, pearl and more. I also use Moissanite to create a gorgeous alternative to traditional diamonds.
Each piece I add to my collection combines simplistic design principles with an elegant style I admire to create custom-made rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets that are memorable, but also intentionally very wearable. My meticulous attention to detail comes in handy as I strive to imitate the intricate and delicate patterns and designs found in nature to create meaningful jewelry that touches the heart.
My bridal jewelry consists of unique custom-made alternative engagement rings and wedding bands for men and women. Many of the couples and future grooms who hire me are looking for nature inspired engagement rings or unique men’s wedding bands.
Goldsmith & Jewelry Designer
I believe that for a jewelry designer or goldsmith to be successful, he or she must have a personal connection and investment in the jewelry creation process and final design. I truly love getting to know the people who hire me to create custom-made jewelry. I feel honored when I am hired as a jewelry designer and goldsmith to tell someone’s story or convey a message with custom-made jewelry.
I am so proud to be able to turn precious metals and stones into meaningful jewelry that gives people joy, comfort, strength and love during important life events and everyday moments for years to come.
I was born and raised in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia, in a small town located between the Tatra Mountain Ranges. To me, Liptovsky Mikulas remains one of the most beautiful places in the world with its rolling fields, gorgeous mountain peaks, and striking colors. A strong connection and love for nature played an important role in my childhood. I also competed on the national alpine ski team.
Since I can remember, I was fascinated by art and deeply admired the craftsmanship of my grandfather. My Grandfather was an engineer, a pilot in WWII and a very skilled handyman, hobbyist, woodworker, metal worker and a man with a big soul. He was a very skilled woodworker and also worked with metals. He too had a huge love for nature and wildlife from the time he was a very young boy and that love was reflected in his work.
After earning an M.B.A and working many years in the corporate world, I decided to follow my grandfather’s lead and explore my passion for creating artwork inspired by nature. Upon moving to the West Coast of the United States, I was presented with the opportunity to explore my creative side as a goldsmith and ever since I was hooked. I love the wandering journey that precious metal can take you on with its endless forms and shapes.
In 2016, I graduated from the Revere Academy Jewelry Technician Program in San Francisco. In addition, I have earned my 3D-Design certification which allows me to combine the latest jewelry design technology with traditional goldsmith techniques to create truly spectacular pieces.
I am excited to see where this journey will take me next and I’m hopeful that you will be a part of it.
