Mask of the Red Death Skull Ring, Mixed Metals
Made in 14k yellow gold, sterling silver, and a Ruby, this skull ring also draws inspiration from literature, and underlying theme of death inevitable to all of us from Edgar Allan Poe’s short story : “The Masque of the Red Death”.
In a land plagued by the deadly “Red Death,” Prince Prospero locks himself and his friends inside his castle, throwing a lavish masquerade ball to escape the horrors outside. Each room is decorated in a different color, with the final, black-and-red room casting an eerie shadow over the festivities. At midnight, a ghastly figure dressed as a corpse appears, terrifying the guests. When Prospero confronts this intruder in the black room, he falls dead, and soon the Red Death claims everyone inside. In the end, “Darkness and Decay and the Red Death” triumph.
